Theory and Philosophy

Discuss various leadership models and styles such as Servant Leadership, Autocratic Leadership, Transformational and countless others.  Why do these models work or not work for the Surface Navy and what considerations should we account for when choosing our own style? What is the nature of the relationship between a SWO leader and the subordinate? The superior?

Its sometimes easy to say "be a great leader" without going into the specifics of HOW to be a great leader.  These articles and videos discuss the "how."  What are some specifics things we can say, or avoid saying to our Sailors?  How often should we acknowledge positive behavior? What compliments or reprimands are most effective? Least effective? How do you lead in times of crisis?
